SPEED LIMIT REDUCED ON GREASONS ROAD AT BUNDANOON

Motorists are advised to slow down on Greasons Road at Bundanoon from late next week with the speed limit to be reduced to improve road user safety.

Member for Goulburn Pru Goward said the reduction of the speed limit is a result of feedback from residents about safety on this stretch of road and a speed zone review Roads and Maritime Services carried out earlier this year.

“As a result of the review, the speed limit will be reduced from the default 100 km/h to 60km/h for the 1.3 kilometre length of the road,” Ms Goward said.

“The existing speed zone was deemed not appropriate due to the number of direct property accesses and nearby residential developments now accessed via Greasons Road.

“The new speed zone will come into effect from Thursday 8 December and create a more consistent and safer road environment for all road users.”

Members of the community can sign up at the Safer Roads NSW website to receive updates about changes to permanent speed limits in their nominated area and to have a say on speed limits.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down and drive to the new road conditions.
