Funding Awarded to Riversdale’s Archives
Member for Goulburn Pru Goward, today announced that the volunteer-led National Trust Property, Riversdale has been selected to receive funding from the NSW Government’s arts, screen and culture agency Create NSW.
The museum will receive $1,606 in funding through the Volunteer Museum Small Grants Program, administered by Museums & Galleries of NSW (M&G NSW) to facilitate vital improvements for volunteer-run museums across the state.
The museum will use the funding to purchase equipment that will enable the volunteers to work on the archived items at Riversdale to ensure that they are stored in the most appropriate manner according to museum standards.
Minister Goward commented, “Riversdale is a fantastic part of the community and it’s wonderful to know that this support will lead to some valued improvements. This investment is very welcome and I look forward to seeing the results.”
Under the program, in the first of two annual funding rounds, eleven community museums from regional NSW will benefit from a total of $17,864.70.
Minister for the Arts Don Harwin said, “I know that volunteer-led organisations hold a special place in communities across NSW and we are delighted to be able to continue supporting their efforts with regular improvements.
“By boosting the capability of our museums, these improvements play an important part in increasing participation from locals and visitors and ultimately boost the excellence of our cultural offering for the State as a whole,” Mr Harwin said.
