CLIFTON PARK PATH CONNECTS COMMUNITY

CLIFTON PARK PATH CONNECTS COMMUNITY
Member for Goulburn Pru Goward today announced that the Crookwell Neighbourhood Centre would be the beneficiaries of almost $113,000 to improve Clifton Park, Crookwell thanks to the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities fund.

The project will see the construction of a shared concrete footpath around the perimeter of the park. The new path will link the outdoor gymnasium, children’s playground, skate park, cricket nets and will allow space for a planned toilet block. The funding will also allow for the construction of a wheelchair accessible sheltered BBQ on a cement pad and solar lighting.

Ms Goward said the NSW Government’s significant investment in the villages will provide residents with improved access to the facilities for year-round use.

“The funding from Stronger Country Communities is about improving the lives of our residents and attractiveness of our region through investment in local infrastructure.

“The Clifton Park project will ensure this wonderful park and its many recreation facilities will enjoy even greater use by the Crookwell Community,” Ms Goward said.

Crookwell Neighborhood Hub Coordinator Linda Stephenson said that a footpath would allow for greater accessibility - especially for young families with prams and scooters – or during times when dew and frost is a factor for outdoor activities.

The Stronger Country Communities fund is from the NSW Government’s $1.3 billion Regional Growth Fund, designed to improve economic growth and productivity through investment in regional communities.

The Stronger Country Communities Fund round two is now open, further details can be found at www.nsw.gov.au/strongercountrycommunities.
