GOULBURN SCHOOLS GET FUNDS FOR PROJECTS
Windellama Public School, Moss Vale High School and Breadalbane Public School will share in $80,000 worth of NSW Government grants for a range of new and improved facilities.
Windellama Public School will receive $20,000 for sports court fencing, Moss Vale High School will get $50,000 for basketball court resurfacing and Breadalbane Public School will get $10,000 for sandpit area shade.
The NSW Government will match money raised by school communities for the projects under the Joint Funding Program.
Member for Goulburn Pru Goward welcomed the NSW Government funding for the projects.
“I congratulate the school community for their outstanding work to make these projects a reality, and I’m delighted the NSW Government is supporting their efforts,” Ms Goward said.
Education Minister Rob Stokes said the NSW Government was working hard to deliver the school facilities students and local communities deserve.
“We want all students to have the resources they need to succeed and thrive in the 21st century,” Rob Stokes said.
The Joint Funding Program is a NSW Government initiative to support fundraising efforts by school communities. Grants will match school community contributions dollar-for-dollar for works including playground upgrades, repurposing existing assets and facility refurbishments.
In addition to this program, the NSW Government is spending $4.2 billion over four years building 120 new or upgraded schools and $747 million on school maintenance. This is the biggest investment in public school infrastructure in the history of NSW.
