$1 MILLION FOR BOOROWA SHOWGROUND AND SPORT PRECINCT
The transformation of Boorowa Showground including a new clubhouse, pony club arena, enhanced racing facilities and improved car parking is one step closer after a $1 million funding grant injection from the NSW Government.
Member for Goulburn Pru Goward was today joined by Deputy Premier Troy Grant to announce the successful grant through the NSW Liberals & Nationals ClubGRANTS Category 3 scheme.
The new showground and sporting precinct will also include new kitchen and toilet facilities, disabled access and a water storage tank.
Ms Goward said the redevelopment will provide the community with a showground and sporting precinct that will be the envy of other towns.
“This significant upgrade to Boorowa Showground is a terrific boost to the region and well-deserved by our passionate sporting community,” Ms Goward said.
“This project will transform the showground site into a fantastic facility that people of all ages can enjoy.
“The NSW Government is focused on increasing participation in sport and recreation and our region deserves this investment,” Ms Goward said.
Mr Grant said the NSW Government is committed to enhancing local facilities to meet the needs of thriving regional communities.
“I know the community will enjoy this first-class sport and recreation precinct that will be home to the region’s sporting stars now and into the future,” Mr Grant said.
“I think this redevelopment will be a well-loved asset for locals and visitors to the region for generations to come.
“The NSW Liberals & Nationals government is delivering on its election commitment to focus Category 3 ClubGRANTS on community sports and cultural facilities and disaster preparedness and relief projects,” Mr Grant said.
Boorowa Council applied for $1 million for the $2.2 million project.
